Nepalingo
As a third culture kid who grew up abroad I’ve struggled my whole life with learning my native language, Nepali and my indigenous language, Newari. Growing outside of Nepal, I felt both very lucky to have the opportunity for better education but at the same time I felt ashamed I couldn’t understand my own language and my own culture.
When the opportunity to mentor Nepali students with my sister thorough Incubate Nepal with my sister I was excited for the opportunity to give back to my country, and at the same time solve my language problem for myself as well as any other third culture kid out there.

My experience during Incubate Nepal was amazing. It was great to work with so many young and talented Nepali students who often exceeded my expectations of what I thought they could accomplish. I also had a lot of fun putting on my product engineering and mentoring hat, helping out whenever they got stuck. In the short span of 8 weeks, they were able to create a fully working language learning app with login, user profiles, a database, and a cute daphne bird too!1
And their marketing/social media chops are way better than mine 🤣:
It was a ton of fun and I still use it to this day to improve my Nepali and learn Newari! When something you want doesn’t exist, build a team and just do it yourself! 😁
